Campus Safari #12

Yesterday, two members of the MTV show The Buried Life, Ben Nemtin and Dave Lingwood, came to the Lyman Center at SCSU to talk about their show and this bucket list idea they started 5 years ago. I have been watching the show ever since it first started on MTV so I was beyond excited to hear that they were coming to our school! Basically, these four guys, Ben, Dave, Jonnie Penn and Duncan Penn made a list of all of the things they wanted to do before they died and no matter how crazy the things may sound they want to accomplish all of them. Some of the things on their list that they have succesfully completed are riding a bull, playing basketball with president Obama, spend one night in jail and crash a party at the Playboy mansion. When they started getting well known in their town, other people would write to them asking them to help complete one of the things on their bucket list. For example, they helped a man reconnect with his son that he walked out on when he was just a baby.
This was one of the most inspiring events I have ever been to and it really made me think about all the things I can do when I really put my mind to it. The stories that these guys told really prove how you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of so many other people.
One of the quotes they said was "today is the youngest you will ever be" and that really is true so don't waste the time you have now because you will never get another chance.
